[TRIP REPORT] Buenos Aires – Madrid with Iberia in Business Class

-

On Sunday morning, March 20th, I arrived at Ezeiza International Airport for the first time this year. After seven months I was flying again. The pandemic still forces a slower rhythm.

In this case I went to terminal A to check in at the Iberia sector (021 to 026). The trip to Madrid was just beginning…

Ezeiza terminal A was quite crowded considering the current time of the pandemic. On Sundays there are usually fewer flights to Europe compared to other days of the week.

British Airways, KLM, Iberia and Air Europa (at least between 11:30 a.m. and 2:25 p.m.) operated services to Europe that day. Regarding other flights, Copa and LATAM also had operations.

Immigration was a relatively quick process, presenting the vaccination certificate and the affidavit prepared within 48 hours of the trip (in addition to the passport of course).

Shortly before 60 minutes prior to departure, boarding at gate 02 began. The flight had an occupancy rate of over 95%.

The Airbus A350 with registration EC-NSC, the newest in Iberia’s fleet. This was the aircraft’s first intercontinental operation. Due to certification flights, the aircraft had only performed services between Madrid and London.

My seat was 8D – Business Class (Iberia)

Boarding was very well organized. Each passenger had a group on the ticket, which they had to respect. Being in group 1, I boarded almost an hour before departure.

While the rest of the passengers were boarding, the crew was handing out different refreshments.

Minutes after takeoff, with the amenity kit already in hand.

We took off from Ezeiza International Airport. Zero turbulence and movements.

Lunch by 3:00 p.m., 40 minutes after departure from Buenos Aires.

Somewhere in Brazil…

The aircraft lights were turned off minutes after the end of lunch. Even breakfast was practically as shown in the photo so that passengers could rest and sleep.

The cabin crew was constantly passing by to attend to the needs of the passengers.

After the above picture I went to sleep. The seat, which in its normal position was already very comfortable, in bed mode was unbeatable.

Early (or midnight in Argentina) we were given breakfast (tea, yogurt, croissants and bread). Very tasty and complete as was the lunch.

The descent in Madrid was almost unnoticeable, apart from a light drizzle.

After arrival in Madrid I was able to go to the cabin thanks to the flight crew.

Immigration was a much faster process than in Ezeiza. At the airport I had to present the QR code through the Spain Travel Health app and the vaccination card.

Terminal T4S was not fully occupied. During the morning, mainly flights of Spanish companies from the American continent usually arrive.

A few hours after arrival, at the hotel located in the central area of Madrid.

This is the end of the first part of the trip to Madrid…

Special thanks to Iberia for the invitation and to all the crew of Iberia flight IB 6856 on Sunday March 20th! Excellent service, they were there at all times for any reason, plus different special issues throughout the flight.

I would also like to highlight Iberia’s Business Class, as well as their service and availability on board. The whole flight was very comfortable with plenty of space available.

A pleasure and a luxury the first flight with Iberia in Business Class! (10/10).

Schedule between Madrid and Buenos Aires

Iberia currently operates 12 weekly flights between the capitals of Spain and Argentina on Airbus A330-200 and Airbus A350-900 aircraft, configured with 288 and 348 seats respectively.
