Aer Lingus adds more flights to the U.S.

With the start of the northern summer season, Aer Lingus restores several transatlantic services suspended due to the pandemic and return after more than two years, including the following services:

  • Philadelphia (PHL) returns on April 7, 2022, with six flights a week and increases to daily from May.
  • Los Angeles (LAX) returns on May 12, 2022, with daily flights.
  • Seattle – Tacoma (SEA) returns on July 7, 2022, with five flights a week.

“Aer Lingus is fully committed to connecting Ireland to North America. We are delighted to rebuild our connectivity this year, operating 14 direct routes between Ireland and North America,” said Bill Byrne, executive vice president, U.S. at Aer Lingus.

The Irish airline will also increase its operations on existing routes such as Chicago O’ Hare (ORD) which increases from 7 to 12 times a week from April 8 and from Washington Dulles (IAD) adds a second daily flight on June 9, giving users traveling from the U.S. capital the option to make convenient connections to Naples, Lyon, Berlin and Barcelona.

At the end of 2021, the company reinstated services to San Francisco (SFO) and Orlando from Dublin (DUB) and in March brought back its transatlantic operations from Shannon (SNN) to New York (JFK) and Boston (BOS).

During the northern winter season, Aer Lingus will return to its route to Miami (MIA) offering two destinations in the state of Florida. The company will be offering affordable fares on its flights to the U.S. for as low as USD 169 roundtrip, the promotion will be available from April 11, 2022 through June 15, 2022.

“This summer marks an exciting period for us as we welcome back so many much-loved U.S. destinations for the first time since March 2020, including Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Seattle, as well as increased frequency on our Chicago and Washington DC services,” Byrne added.

Data obtained by Aviacionline through the U.S. Department of Transportation (DoT), Dublin (DUB) was the fifth top U.S. transatlantic destination in 2019 where 3,379,619 passengers were flown.
