Easyfly will inaugurate seven routes in March

Easyfly continues its growth plan in the Colombian regional market for 2022, where it will inaugurate seven new routes in March.

In this way, the airline will have an offer of 63 routes and a projection that will exceed 2.5 million passengers per year, making it the leading airline in connectivity in the regional market in Colombia.

The departments of Nariño, Antioquia, Caquetá, Meta, Valle del Cauca, Santander, Risaralda and Bolívar will benefit from these new air services.

This group of routes is part of the airline’s expansion plan, which seeks to end 2022 with more than 80 routes in Colombia and a presence in close to 90% of the country’s departments.

The company is currently present in 85% of Colombia’s departments. Amazonas, Boyacá, La Guajira, Vaupes and Vichada will be added to the network in the future.

According to Alfonso Ávila, president of Easyfly, the company «demonstrates its commitment to the development of Colombia’s regions, offering through these new direct flights employment, health and education opportunities that reach more territories through the connectivity provided by regional aviation».

New routes

  • Cartagena (CTG) – Mompox (MMP) – Cartagena (CTG); starts next March 3, with flights on Thursdays and Sundays.
  • Pereira (PEI) – Villavicencio (VVC) – Pereira (PEI); starts next March 4, with flights on Mondays and Fridays.
  • Bucaramanga (BGA) – Villavicencio (VVC) – Bucaramanga (BGA); begins next March 4, with flights on Mondays and Fridays.
  • Bogotá (BOG) – Tumaco (TCO) – Bogotá (BOG); will begin operations on March 16 with flights on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
  • Cali (CLO) – Florencia (FLA) – Cali (CLO); will begin operations on March 18 on Mondays and Fridays.
  • Cali (CLO) – Apartadó (APO) – Cali (CLO); will begin operations next March 18 on Tuesdays and Fridays.
  • Pasto (PSO) – Tumaco (TCO) – Pasto (PSO); will begin operations on March 22 on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The company has a fleet of five ATR 72-600s, eleven ATR 42-600s, and one ATR 42-500; it will receive two ATR 42s in March and four more in April.

In 2021 it carried 1,424,032 passengers on 37mil flights, representing a 71.16% recovery compared to 2019 when it moved 2,000,917 travelers.

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, the company will have 38.5% of the seat offer in Bogota (BOG), followed by Santiago de Cali (CLO) with 12.5% and, closes the podium, Medellin/Olaya Herrera (EOH) with 11.4%.

Pereira (PEI) is not an operating base but has 10.3% of Easyfly’s seat supply, and its bases in Bucaramanga (BGA) and Barranquilla (BAQ) have 8.5% and 4.9% of the supply, respectively.
