Colombia: VIVA starts flights between Neiva and Cartagena

-

Colombian low-cost VIVA landed in the department of Huila by inaugurating a direct flight between Benito Salas Airport (NVA), which serves Neiva, and Rafael Núñez International Airport (CTG) in Cartagena.

The link will have three weekly flights (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays), being the only airline to connect both destinations. The airline expects to transport close to 50,000 passengers during its first year of operations.

«This start of operations is very important for us as a company, since we will be the only one to connect these two destinations directly, which will represent a saving in time and money for our travelers, allowing them to fly with all the advantages of the ‘Super Low Cost’ model and with the best punctuality,» said Pablo Madriñán, commercial vice-president of Viva.

This is the first time that a low-cost airline lands in Neiva and with an unprecedented route not operated, so far, by any airline in history.

Currently Avianca (Bogota), LATAM (Bogota) and Easyfly (Bogota, Cali and Medellin/Olaya Herrera) fly to Pereira; about seventeen daily flights according to information obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium.

VIVA continues to increase its offer of destinations in Cartagena: it currently flies to Bogotá (BOG), Bucaramanga (BGA), Cali (CLO), Medellín/Rionegro (MDE), Pereira (PEI), San Andrés (ADZ) and now, Neiva (NVA). By the end of March, Armenia (AXM), Cúcuta (CUC), Pasto (PSO) and Villavicencio (VVC) will be added; by June, Mexico City (MEX), a destination abandoned by Interjet, will be added.
