In March, Viva will undertake one of the largest expansions in its history, including landing in Armenia (AXM), Neiva (NVA), Pasto (PSO), Valledupar (VUP) and Villavicencio (VCV) in Colombia; and Punta Cana (PUJ) in the Dominican Republic.
It will also launch 14 new domestic routes, adding 44 domestic connections in 18 destinations in Colombia, with an offer of 8,148 new seats per week.
On the other hand, the company will land in Punta Cana (PUJ), Dominican Republic, with flights from Medellín (MDE) and will connect Cali (CLO) with Cancún (CUN), Mexico.

Rionegro International Airport, Medellín, will be where it will have Viva’s biggest incursion, where it will have competition in its six new destinations. In 2021, competitors moved:

– Valledupar: 16,065 passengers

In 2021, its rivals moved 45,922 passengers between Medellin and Punta Cana; and between Cancun and Cali 23,683 travelers.
Viva currently operates nine Airbus A320ceo and eleven Airbus A320neo aircraft, with 24 additional NEO aircraft pending delivery.
According to data obtained by Aviacionline through AeroCivil, VIVA transported 5,182,382 passengers in 2021, being 18.66% higher than 2019 when it mobilized 4,367,227 passengers. The results represent 21% of the market share, positioning it as the third largest Colombian airline.
