Beginning March 27, American Airlines will strengthen its presence at London Heathrow Airport (LHR) Terminal 5. It will start operating up to 11 daily flights from its main hubs during the northern summer season.
This strategic move will benefit customers of the largest U.S. airline where they will have greater opportunity to make connections through its Atlantic Joint Business partner, British Airways, as well as other members of the Oneworld alliance. In addition, travelers will be able to have a more seamless experience between partner airlines and more convenient access to the six premium lounges of the leading U.K. carrier.

Through October 30, American Airlines services between London Heathrow (LHR) to Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA), and New York (JFK) will arrive and depart from Terminal 5, all flights will be operated on Boeing 777-200ER/-300ER aircraft.
In effect, customers connecting on British Airways flights at Terminal 5 via its extensive international network will be able to further enjoy reciprocal benefits. And at the same time, they will take advantage of a seamless connection experience when traveling between airlines.
This move will benefit Atlantic Joint Business partners, including Iberia. This is in addition to plans to consolidate its operations at New York Airport (JFK) Terminal 8 beginning December 1.

American’s services between London Heathrow (LHR) to Boston (BOS), Charlotte (CLT), Chicago O’Hare (ORD), Philadelphia (PHL), Phoenix (PHX), and Raleigh – Durham (DUR), will continue to operate from Terminal 3. All these flights will be operated on Boeing 777-200ER and 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
