Prior to COVID-19, Aerolineas Argentinas operated 30 flights per week between Buenos Aires (AEP and EZE) and Montevideo with Boeing 737-700, Boeing 737-800 and Embraer 190. From Monday to Friday it operated five flights a day, while on Saturdays and Sundays it made between two and three daily services.
Amaszonas Uruguay was the main competitor of Aerolíneas Argentinas, with one daily frequency on the CRJ-200(ER).

Starting April 4th, the Argentine company will increase its flights to the Uruguayan capital. Aerolíneas Argentinas will fly twice a day to and from Aeroparque Jorge Newbery in Buenos Aires with the same aircraft.
At present, Aerolíneas Argentinas is the only company that operates between Argentina and Uruguay. During the summer, Flybondi performed services to Punta del Este.
