Sky High Aviation to add two Embraer E190s

-

Sky High Aviation plans to incorporate two Embraer E190s scheduled to arrive next March, which will significantly increase its operating capacity, currently comprised of three 50-seat Embraer ERJ-145s.

The Dominican airline offers more than 19 scheduled flights per week to and from the José Francisco Peña Gómez International Airport of the Americas in Santo Domingo, serving multiple destinations in the Caribbean and Central America: Aruba, Curaçao, Cuba, St. Maarten, Bonaire, Antigua, Anguilla, Bonaire, Curaçao, St. Maarten, St. Kitts, and Nicaragua; in addition to private flight operations (charters).

In 2021 Sky High Aviation mobilized a total of 82,432 passengers in 4,566 operations between arrivals and departures.

The company has a pending landing in Venezuela after obtaining authorization from the Dominican Civil Aviation Board. In addition, it has requested the U.S. Department of Transportation (DoT) to modify its Foreign Airline Permit to include larger aircraft. The current authorization limits it to the use of aircraft with a capacity of up to 60 passengers and a maximum weight of 18,000 pounds (8,165 kg).
