Ryanair presents its schedule in Cork and premieres new routes to Spain

Ryanair unveils its increased schedule at Cork, Ireland (ORK) for this year’s northern summer season, the Irish carrier will offer more than 120 weekly flights to 25 destinations, representing a 150% increase over its pre-pandemic offering.

Europe’s largest airline will base a third aircraft at Cork (ORK), which represents an additional investment of $100 million, bringing the total investment in the Irish airport to $300 million and will also create 30 direct jobs.

This summer schedule at Cork (ORK) will offer flights to popular destinations in Faro (FAO), Palma de Mallorca (PMI), Lanzarote (ACE), and Tenerife – South (TFS) and include these new routes:

  • Alghero, Sardinia (AHO) starting June 1.

This investment in Cork (ORK) by Ryanair is thanks to the Cork Airport Recovery Scheme (CRS) initiative. This innovative aviation package is enabling Ireland and regional airports to rebuild international air connectivity following the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Managing Director’s word:

“Research tells us that there is huge pent-up demand for travel after the pandemic. People really appreciate good friendly customer service and uncrowded, pleasant indoor spaces which they will find at Cork Airport. It has been a long wait, but we know that the traveling public across the South of Ireland will support these routes strongly. In that regard, we expect a 750% increase in passenger traffic in 2022 v 2021 and to welcome over 2 million passengers once again to our terminal in 2022. We thank Ryanair for this vote of confidence in Cork Airport.” Niall MacCarthy, Managing Director, Cork Airport said.
