Mercado Libre expands in Mexico under Wet Lease mode

Last week, Mexican charter airline TSM (Transporte Saltillo Monterrey) announced its expansion into the cargo market. In this regard, a batch of Boeing B737-400SF aircraft will arrive under an A.C.M.I. contract. Operating for the Mercado Libre brand, this is a subsidiary of the Argentine company Homonimia and its Brazilian division, Mercado Livre. As reported by our partner portal in Brazil, Aeroin.net. 

A.C.M.I. stands for Aircraft Crew Maintenance Insurance (A.C.M.I.), or wet lease. That is, the lease contract between two airlines, which includes: the aircraft, the crew, the maintenance of the aircraft, and the insurance of the same.

Mercado Libre plans aircraft and routes increase in South America

T.S.M. is currently operating two classic 1968 DC-9s for Mercado Libre. As mentioned at the beginning of this article, they are Boeing B737-400SF aircraft, one of them with serial number B737-400SF. One of them with serial number MSN28150, an ex Comair aircraft, according to the Cargo Facts site.

Mercado Libre’s fleet: In both Mexico and Brazil, the company’s primary objective in air logistics is to speed up the delivery time of its products. Air transport is key, in addition to its distribution and warehousing centers. Thus, the company emphasizes the impact on the public of having airplanes with the Mercado Libre brand, providing an agile, effective and efficient shipping service, while maintaining operational and logistical safety standards.
