GOL received 26 Boeing 737 MAX and completes DAE order

-

GOL Linhas Aéreas took delivery of two additional brand new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, ending January with 26 units of this model.

The recent factory-new aircraft, registration PR-GPJ (msn 60220) and PS-GPN (msn 65054), arrived at Confins airport, state of Minas Gerais, where the company has an important hangar and where they are awaiting nationalization prior to entry into service.

The company closed January with 26 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. 18 more will be delivered in 2022 to reach by year-end. This will allow GOL to operate a fleet composed of a third of new-generation aircraft, according to the latest market update.

The arrival of the new 737 MAXs allows GOL to accelerate the decommissioning of the Boeing 737-700 and 737-800 NGs on short-term lease while maintaining the flexibility to manage its fleet in line with fluctuations in flight demand during and post-pandemic.

If the company fulfills all current purchase commitments for Boeing 737 MAXs, GOL will meet its goal of having a fleet composed of 75% MAX models by 2030.

Aircraft orders from other companies:

There are original Jet Airways orders already ready for delivery, which have the registration numbers N420PK (msn 44872) and N406GK (msn 44874). Both have been stored without flying for many months. Besides these, there is also CN-MAZ (msn 60009), which was never delivered to Royal Air Maroc, and therefore passed to GOL.

In addition, there are also original orders from GOL:

  • PS-GPI (msn 44348) and PS-GPM (msn 65053) – their transfers have already been requested and should take place between February and March.
  • PR-XMI (msn 43994) – performed tests recently and could be transferred soon.
  • PR-XMK (msn 43995) and PR-XML (msn 43996) – currently stored in the United States.
