Conviasa’s first Boeing 747 freighter arrives in Venezuela

On February 11, Conviasa’s first Boeing 747 freighter arrived from Minsk International Airport (MSQ), to operate for the cargo subsidiary Emtrasur. The 747-300M landed at Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetia.

With the arrival of this aircraft, the state-owned airline expects to expand its cargo and mail operations. This is in line with the expansion announced at Expo Tecnología Aeronáutica 2021, where Aviacionline was present.

Conviasa’s Boeing 747-300M already performed its first official cargo operation: the aircraft visited the Belarusian capital after departing from Iran, to load medicines and medical supplies to fight COVID-19.

Venezuela and Belarus recently established agreements for commercial air transport operations. They aim to expand economic relations between the two nations, as well as to increase air cargo operations.

The Minsk Airport Business Aviation Center signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Belarusian Department of Aviation and the Venezuelan National Institute of Civil Aviation (INAC). Its objective is to establish the designated airlines that will operate flights between the two nations. And at the same time to lay the groundwork for the future signing of the Belarus-Venezuela Air Services Agreement.
