Alas La Rioja, a new airline in Argentina, inaugurates its regular flights

-

This Wednesday (9) at 9:11 a. m. local time, the inaugural flight of Alas La Rioja, a new state-owned airline of the Province of La Rioja, departed from Aeroparque Jorge Newbery. Operations will be carried out in American Jet’s Embraer 145, configured with 50 seats.

Alas La Rioja will fly twice a week between Buenos Aires and La Rioja, according to the company’s Facebook account. Tickets are sold through travel agencies by telephone, since Alas La Rioja does not have its own website.

This is a new attempt of a state-owned airline by an Argentine province. Between 2008 and 2013 it operated Aerochaco, owned by the province of Chaco, which consisted in the recreation of the historical «Aerochaco» brand through an agreement with Macair Jet, within the framework of the serious supply problems presented by Aerolíneas Argentinas prior to its re-establishment.
