Air Canada expands its North American offering for the 2022 northern summer season

Air Canada announces a major expansion of its network to North America for the 2022 northern summer season. The Canadian airline will launch three new domestic and four cross-border routes, as well as resume a total of 41 North American routes.

Air Canada continues to maintain its leadership as one of the largest airline operators in North America, the airline will serve 41 U.S. and 51 Canadian airports during the summer season and will offer the largest network of destinations between Canada and the U.S. of any Canadian airline.

“Canadians are ready to travel and we are excited to offer very significant growth in our schedule this summer. With our recovery accelerating and flights in North America reaching 90% of pre-pandemic levels this summer, we are offering more choice around the world,” said Mark Galardo, Air Canada’s Senior Vice President, Network Planning and Revenue Management.

“In addition, our revitalized North American network, designed to easily connect to our global network, gives customers by far the widest choice of routes and destinations of any Canadian airline this summer,” added Galardo.

Several North American and domestic routes will be served by widebody aircraft with Business Class and Premium Economy seating. Flights longer than two hours feature new Economy Class Bistro selections.

Canada is the second-largest international market in the United States, data obtained by Aviacionline through the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). (DOT) in 2019 moved 13,491,466 passengers from Toronto Pearson (YYZ) to U.S. airports, the second busiest U.S. international destination behind only London Heathrow (LHR).
