SKY inaugurates its flights between Lima and Punta Cana

-

At 10:23 a.m. this Monday morning, SKY’s inaugural flight to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, departed from Lima’s Jorge Chavez Airport, which represents a new step in the airline’s expansion in Peru and its strategy to internationalize its network.

As highlighted by the low-cost airline, they plan to transport 4,000 passengers per month in the three weekly frequencies offered (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays), and at the moment they have already marketed around 20,000 tickets with occupancy factors above 90%.

«It is a great pleasure to keep contributing to the economic reactivation of Peru and the Dominican Republic. This route is a significant part of our commitment to become the low-cost airline for South America, with highly competitive fares and state-of-the-art aircraft. We thank the Dominican authorities and the Directorate General of Civil Aeronautics of Peru for the handling of permits and authorizations that enabled us to start flights to this new international destination, which marks a promising 2022 for our company,» said Franco Chaparro, SKY’s commercial manager in Peru.

On his part, Alejandro Arias Zarzuela, the Dominican Republic’s Ambassador in Peru, said that «this is a day of great joy for us since after a tough period, we can now start to meet once again in places we had wanted to visit. I would like to congratulate SKY for taking on this new challenge and contributing to the cultural exchange and competitiveness of both countries».
