FITUR 2022: World2fly to increase its flights to the Caribbean and add operations to Orlando

As part of the International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR 2022) held in Madrid, World2Meet’s General Director of Distribution disclosed in an interview to the Spanish media Digital Aviation, World2fly’s plans for next season and fleet growth.

This airline is part of the Travel Division of the Iberostar Group, working with several tour operators to transport passengers.

World2fly has its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from Spain and Portugal, where the airline offers long-haul flights from Madrid (MAD) and Lisbon (LIS) to the Caribbean, the top-performing market, according to Enric Riera. The airline has also operated charter flights to Maldives and Mauritius.

New plans for Madrid

The carrier will increase its operations to its Caribbean destinations from Madrid (MAD) during the summer season in addition to adding a new scheduled service to the Dominican Republic. The schedule is as follows:

  • Cancun, Mexico (CUN) increases to 4 weekly flights.
  • Punta Cana, Dominican Republic (SDQ) increases to 4 weekly flights.
  • Havana, Cuba (HAV) increases to 3 weekly flights.

New scheduled destination to Santo Domingo (SDQ)

Over the Christmas season, World2fly offered several charter flights to Santo Domingo (SDQ). Starting June 19, the airline will offer two weekly frequencies on Wednesdays and Sundays operated by Airbus A350-900.

  • Madrid – Santo Domingo Flight 2W 3409 MAD 16:30 – SDQ 19:10
  • Santo Domingo – Madrid Flight 2W 3410 SDQ 21:10 – MAD 11:30+1

New plans for Lisbon

In Portugal, World2fly has an operation from Lisbon (LIS) to Cancun (CUN) and Punta Cana (PUJ) and expects to add Varadero (VRA) as a new destination in Cuba, in addition to a service from Porto (OPO) to Punta Cana (PUJ).

Flights to Orlando are confirmed

Enric Riera confirmed the operation to Orlando operating to Sanford Airport (SFB) from Madrid (MAD) and Lisbon (LIS). This is part of the company’s strategy to test new destinations for short periods of time.

Flight schedule between Madrid (MAD) and Orlando (SFB)

Flights from Madrid will be available from June 24 to July 15 and from Orlando (SFB) from July 1 to July 22. The schedule is as follows:

  • Flight 2W 2624 MAD 15:30 – SFB 18:55 one flight per week on Friday.
  • Flight 2W 2625 SFB 20:55 – MAD 11:15+1 a weekly flight on Saturday.

Flight Schedule between Lisbon (LIS) and Orlando (SFB)

Flights will be available from July 22 to September 2, with a weekly flight on Friday operated by Airbus A330-300. The schedule is as follows:

  • Flight 3P 5626 LIS 14:45 – SFB 18:55
  • Flight 3P 5627 SFB 20:55 – LIS 10:15+1

More aircraft

The company currently has in its fleet a 432-seat Airbus A350-900 and a 388-seat Airbus A330-300, both in single economy class configuration, the company plans to have one A350 by May 2022 and another by 2023.

World2fly teamed up with tour operator Newblue to offer flights to the United States, Mexico, Barbados, Seychelles, and Uzbekistan from Madrid.
