Dominican Republic: Sky High Aviation authorized to Cuba and Nicaragua

The Dominican Republic continues to expand its international operations as the Civil Aviation Board (JAC) revealed the approval of Sky High Aviation Services’ flights to Nicaragua and its recently inaugurated routes to Cuba.

The agency granted the airline routes linking Santo Domingo with Havana (HAV), Santa Clara (SNU), and Camagüey (CMW) in Cuba. In the case of Nicaragua, it is the route between Santo Domingo and Managua (MGU), which has not yet been announced.

The four routes are authorized to operate scheduled and non-scheduled air transportation services for passengers, cargo, and mail. The flights will be operated in Embraer ERJ-145 aircraft with a 50-seat capacity.

In 2021 Sky High Aviation transported a total of 82,432 passengers in 4,566 operations performed in arrivals and departures.

In addition to services to Cuba, it currently operates flights to The Valley (AXA) in Anguilla; St. John’s (ANU) in Anguilla; and St. John’s (ANU) in St. Maarten. In addition to services to Cuba, it currently operates flights to The Valley (AXA) in Anguilla; St. John’s (ANU) in Antigua and Barbuda; Oranjestad (AUA) in Aruba; Kralendijk (BON) in Bonaire; Willemstad (CUR) in Curaçao; Pointe-a-Pitre (PTP) in Guadeloupe; Tortola (EIS) in the Virgin Islands (UK); Fort-de-France (FDF) in Martinique; Basseterre (SKB) in Saint Kitts and Nevis; and Philipsburg (SXM) in St. Maarten.

It is also approved to operate between Santo Domingo/Las Americas (SDQ) with four destinations in Venezuela: Maracaibo (MAR), Valencia (VLN), Caracas (CCS), Porlamar (PMV).
