DAE agrees with Aeromexico for 12 Boeing 737 MAX 8

Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) Ltd has announced the leasing of 14 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft to two well-known customers. The order was placed with Boeing in March 2021.

Aeromexico will receive 12 aircraft and another two will go to Icelandair. Deliveries started in October last year and all 737 MAXs are expected to be delivered during the first half of 2022. This will allow these airlines to increase capacity for the summer season and enable them to rejuvenate their fleets faster.

According to the website ch-aviation.com, Aeromexico has a fleet of 21 737 MAX 8s with 12 orders pending and 6 737 MAX 9s with 9 orders to be received. The Mexican airline is one of the largest operators of the 737 MAX variant in Latin America.

Aeromexico had canceled aircraft orders but after the Chapter 11 financial restructuring, it was able to negotiate and negotiate better prices for the leasing of units that are already assembled at the Boeing factory.

The Mexican carrier also added six 737 Next-Generation 737s, increasing the fleet to 41 aircraft, and also expanded its 787-9 Dreamliner orders to a total of four.
