After more than 20 years, Salta and Resistencia are once again connected by air

Aerolíneas Argentinas’ inaugural flight from Salta, operated by Boeing 737-700 registration LV-BZA (Skyteam livery), landed at Resistencia International Airport at 14:17 on Tuesday, January 4.

This is the first time since 1998 that both cities are connected non-stop by air, allowing the two key urban poles of northern Argentina to be linked: the capital of Salta and Resistencia-Corrientes. ALTA had been the last company to fly between both cities.

Aerolíneas Argentinas will operate two weekly flights, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, departing from Martín Miguel de Güemes International Airport as AR 1456 at 13:30 arriving in Resistencia at 14:50. Conversely, it will depart as AR 1457 at 15:50, landing in Salta at 17:30.

Flights will be operated by Boeing 737-700 aircraft, offering 512 seats per week. Promotional fares are available from ARS 7,500 round trip (USD 72 at the official exchange rate).

According to sources close to the company, on the inaugural flight, 21 passengers arrived from Salta and 72 departed from Resistencia.

The beginning of the new flights to Salta comes along with an increase in the number of connections between Resistencia and Buenos Aires, from seven to 10 per week, and the resumption of flights between the capital city of Chaco and Córdoba.

In addition, Aerolíneas Argentinas also flies from Salta to Buenos Aires/AEP, Córdoba, Mendoza, Neuquén, Puerto Iguazú and Rosario.
