Lufthansa to fly between Munich and Rio de Janeiro

-

Lufthansa resumed flights between Frankfurt and Rio de Janeiro last December 12th after a two-year suspension due to COVID-19 and its restrictions. These operations are carried out on Boeing 747-400(ER) aircraft, with a capacity for 371 passengers.

Initially, as we had announced, services to Rio (GIG) were scheduled with Airbus A340-300s, configured with almost 100 less seats. Lufthansa is the only carrier to offer non-stop flights on the route.

In order to strengthen its Munich hub, the airline will modify its operations to Rio de Janeiro. For the first time, flights to Galeão will be made to and from Munich.

Lufthansa will inaugurate its services on March the 27th, 2022. The carrier will have five weekly flights on Airbus A350-900XWBs, with 293 seats available.
