LATAM Colombia closes the year with five new routes

LATAM Group has been investing heavily this 2021 in its Colombian subsidiary, inaugurating several domestic routes, which allowed it to reach a network of 32 routes.

Colombia has become one of the best performers in South America, along with Ecuador and Brazil, with 92.3% of the pre-pandemic flight offer already recovered, according to data obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium. LATAM for its part is already operating 35% above its 2019 levels.

In December, the company inaugurates the following routes:

From To Frequencies Aircraft
Cali (CLO) Pasto (PSO) Daily A319
Cali (CLO) Montería (MTR) TU-WE-SU A319/A320
Medellín (MDE) Pereira (PEI) Daily A319/A320
Medellín (MDE) Leticia (LET) MO-TU-WE-TH-FR A319/A320
Pereira (PEI) Cartagena (CTG) Daily A319/A320

«With the opening of these new routes, we continue in our goal of pursuing our goal of decentralizing the operation from the city of Bogota and ensuring that, by March 2022, 45% of routes will be operated between cities, providing passengers with easier and more direct alternatives. Thus, we plan to complete in January a total of 34 routes in our domestic network, of which 55% will be operated from Bogota,» said Santiago Alvarez, General Manager of LATAM Colombia.

In the last twelve months, the company has launched thirteen new domestic market routes, in addition to this month’s five. The others are:

  • Bogota (BOG) – Armenia (AXM): one daily flight on A319/A320.
  • Bogota (BOG) – Pasto (PSO): one daily flight on A319.
  • Cali (CLO) – Barranquilla (BAQ): one daily flight on A319/A320.
  • Cali (CLO) – Santa Marta (SMR) one daily flight on A319/A320.
  • Medellín (MDE) – Bucaramanga (BGA): one daily flight in A319/A320.
  • Medellín (MDE) – Cali (CLO): three daily on A319/A320.
  • Medellín (MDE) – Cúcuta (CUC): one daily flight on A319/A320.
  • Medellín (MDE) – Montería (MTR): eleven weekly flights on A319/A320.

To meet such growth in its domestic network, the airline added three Airbus A320s with a capacity for 177 passengers to its fleet. Thus, the Colombian fleet will be comprised of 24 aircraft, 22 that will be in operation and 2 for backup that will be oriented to continue reinforcing the levels of execution and service of the operation in the country.
