Eastern Airlines cancels flights between Miami and Montevideo

-

After six months of Eastern’s start to Montevideo, with many problems with passengers due to cancellations and delays on part of its flights, the airline is suspending operations to and from Miami in January 2022.

Eastern Airlines offers a weekly frequency between the two cities on Boeing 767-300(ER) aircraft. Last June, at inauguration time, the carrier had three services per week on the route. Additionally, in mid-2021 there was a rumor about a second Eastern connection to Uruguay from the United States, but due to operational issues it never came to be realized.

The actual information indicates that Eastern Airlines is canceling flights between Miami and Montevideo on January 16th. At the moment, the company has not confirmed the resumption on March 31st, although the operations are listed in the company’s reservation system.
