In early December, due to an increase in demand, Aerolíneas Argentinas boosted from two to five weekly flights between Buenos Aires and Punta del Este. The Argentine company operates with Embraer 190s and Boeing 737-800s, with a capacity for 96 and 170 passengers respectively.
The two cities were re-connected last September after a 18-month suspension. Between March 2020 and September 2021, Punta del Este Airport has been without regular commercial operations.
With the 2021/22 summer season starting, the carrier will once again increase its services to the Uruguayan city effective January 2nd. According to the reservation system, Aerolíneas Argentinas will have nine flights per week with the same aircraft.
