Major events are always an opportunity for manufacturers to help bound the media coverage of themselves; in the Dubai Airshow 2021, one of the aircraft Boeing brought was its experimental 737 MAX, the «ecoDemonstrator».
This jet, brought from Alaska Airlines, which is a partner of the Boeing project, is a flying laboratory with respect to innovations that could help driving small fuel consumption reductions.
As such, it is, for all effects, an experimental aircraft, the only experimental 737 MAX in the world that is in the colors of an airline.
Despite the Alaska Airlines livery, the ship – registered N60436 – is lent by the airline in an agreement and operated by Boeing.
