The Spanish airline Plus Ultra applied to Colombia’s Civil Aeronautics for permission to operate the Madrid – Bogota – Cartagena – Madrid route with three weekly frequencies.
Such request, which was filed yesterday November 23 at the Air Transport office of the special administrative unit of the Civil Aeronautics, involves the regular transportation of passengers as well as mail and cargo in Airbus A340 aircraft.
In this way, Plus Ultra would become the third international airline to land in Colombia this year after the Mexican Viva Aerobus and Volaris, and contributes to the strengthening of international connectivity, which is the Government’s objective.
It should be kept in mind that, after a year of air reopening, the country has recovered 62% of the seats and 60% of the international frequencies that were registered before the pandemic.
As for the European market, the arrival of Plus Ultra would join Iberia, Air Europa, Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa, Avianca, Air France, and KLM, airlines that have resumed their routes this last year, making the country have more than 40 air frequencies to the old continent with more than 12,000 seats available, which represents a recovery of 45% of the offer.
