MC-21-310 and Aurus Business Jet arrive in Dubai

-

Between this Wednesday and Thursday, the MC-21-310, Irkut Corporation’s single-aisle passenger aircraft, and the Aurus, the executive version of the SSJ100, arrived in Dubai to participate in the Dubai Airshow 2021.

This is the first time that both aircraft are being presented abroad, and they arrived on direct flights from Zhukovsky in the Moscow region.

«The MC-21-310 aircraft powered by new Russian PD-14 engines has been undergoing flight tests since December 2020. In order to participate in the Dubai Airshow 2021, a part of the business and economy class cabin is installed on the aircraft. This will demonstrate one of the advantages of the MC-21: an aisle with more space between seats provided by the widest fuselage in its class», Irkut said, pointing out that they are working on certification tests of the aircraft and assembly of the first units.

Aeroflot will be the main operator with some fifty aircraft out of the total of 175 that Irkut has committed. The entry-into-service date has been repeatedly postponed, with the goal now being a 2022 debut by Rossiya Airlines, a subsidiary of the Aeroflot group.
