Delta Airlines will add new routes, more frequencies, and an expanded premium seat offering next summer 2022, becoming the largest airline with the most flights to Europe from New York JFK and Boston.
By advancing the deployment of its Delta Premium Select cabin on its Boeing 767-300ER and Airbus A330-200/-300 aircraft, all flights to Europe will have the premium economy seating offer.

«With the lifting of restrictions in the U.S. and abroad, plus rising vaccination rates and continued tremendous pent-up demand, travel to Europe is expected to increase next summer, and Delta customers are assured of enjoying every moment from curbside to claim» Esposito added.
During the 2022 summer season, Delta will offer 90% additional capacity over the same period in 2021, making it the largest transatlantic airline between New York JFK and Boston.

In total Delta plans to operate up to 73 daily flights to 25 destinations from 10 U.S. cities, including its partners KLM, Air France, and Virgin Atlantic, customers have even more nonstop flight options to 21 cities from the U.S.
Extensive connectivity offered through Air France, KLM, and Virgin Atlantic via their hubs in Paris (CDG), Amsterdam (AMS), and London (LHR), give customers the option to connect to 186 destinations in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and India.
Delta will bring back six destinations for next summer to Brussels (BRU), Copenhagen (CPH), Edinburgh (EDI), Munich (MUC), Prague (PRG), and Zurich (ZRH). In the coming months, the airline will expand its offering from its main transatlantic hubs from New York JFK, Boston, and Atlanta with more frequencies, routes, and modernized and upgraded aircraft.
New York (JFK)
Delta will operate up to 29 daily flights to 23 international destinations by summer 2022, including the restart of pre-pandemic service to the following markets:
- Zurich (ZRH) daily flights on Boeing 767-400ERs, beginning Feb. 6.
- Brussels (BRU) five flights a week on Boeing 767-300ERs, starting March 26.
- Edinburgh (EDI) five flights a week on Boeing 767-300ER, beginning May 1.
- Copenhagen (CPH) five weekly flights and Prague with daily flights on Boeing 767-300ERs, both starting May 26.
- Amsterdam (AMS), London (LHR), Milan (MXP) and Rome (FCO) will increase to two daily flights by summer 2022.
- Frankfurt (FRA) restarts on December 13, 2021, increases to daily flights in the summer 2022 season.
- Dublin (DUB) changes equipment to Airbus A330-300.
- Lisbon (LIS) changes equipment to Boeing 767-300ER.

Boston (BOS)
From Logan Airport (BOS), by Summer 2022, Delta will make its largest transatlantic offering at this hub, operating 10 daily flights from 9 destinations in Europe and Israel, offering nearly 5,000 more seats each week compared to summer 2019, which include:
Launch of two new routes to Athens (ATH) with Airbus A330-300 and Tel Aviv (TLV) with Airbus A330-900neo.
Resumption of Edinburgh (EDI) with five weekly flights with Boeing 767-300ER (with upgraded cabins).
Resumption of service to Rome (FCO) with daily Airbus A330-300 flights.
Amsterdam (AMS), Dublin (DUB), and Paris (CDG) will be operated by Airbus A330-300.
Lisbon (LIS) is changing to Boeing 767-300ER.

Atlanta (ATL)
From its mega-hub, Delta will operate 18 daily flights from Atlanta to 14 transatlantic destinations by summer 2022, which include:
- Munich (MUC) resumes Dec. 13, 2021, during the summer will operate daily flights.
- Milan (MXP) resumes May 1 with daily Boeing 767-300ER flights (the route last operated in summer 2019).
- Amsterdam (AMS) increases to three daily flights.
- London (LHR) and Rome (FCO) increase to two daily flights.
- Athens (ATH) the new service that opened in 2021, returns by May 1 with Airbus A330-300s with upgraded cabins.
Return of point-to-point transatlantic routes
Delta will reinstate transatlantic service to three key U.S. markets:
- Portland (PDX) – Amsterdam (AMS) restarts May 3, 2022, operated on Airbus A330-200s (with upgraded cabins).
- Cincinnati (CVG) – Paris (CDG) restarts August 2, 2022, operated on Boeing 767-300ER (with upgraded cabins).
- Raleigh-Durham (RDU) – Paris (CDG) restarts August 3, 2022, operated on Boeing 767-300ER (with upgraded cabins).
More premium seats for summer 2022
As international flights gradually return in 2021, Delta took the opportunity to upgrade the cabins of several of its fleet aircraft which are as follows:
Airbus A330-200 new configuration: 34 Delta One, 21 Delta Premium Select, 24 Delta Comfort+, 144 Main Cabin.
Airbus A330-300 new configuration: 34 Delta One, 21 Delta Premium Select, 24 Delta Comfort+, 203 Main Cabin.
Boeing 767-300ER new configuration: 26 Delta One, 18 Delta Premium Select, 21 Delta Comfort+, 151 Main Cabin.
In addition, the aircraft will receive renovated lavatories and new LED cabin lighting.
