American Airlines announces the expansion of its flights to Brazil

American Airlines announced the expansion of its frequencies from the United States to Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo during Carnival.

For São Paulo International Airport (GRU), Guarulhos, from January 5 through March 26, the carrier will add a third flight per day from Miami (MIA), and from January 4 through March 3, Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) service will become daily.

For Galeao International Airport (GIG), Rio de Janeiro, American will add a second daily connection from Miami during February.

Through our Brazilian partner Aeroin, we obtained information that with these additions, American will operate a total of 54 flights per week in Brazil, including 17 from Rio de Janeiro to Miami and New York, and 38 from Sao Paulo to Dallas-Fort Worth, Miami and New York.

With these new frequencies, the airline will increase its percentage of seats in São Paulo by 58% and in Rio de Janeiro by 163%, both compared to November 2021.

» Throughout Carnival, we will operate more than 50 weekly flights to the United States, acting as a bridge between our 2 countries and highlighting our more than 30-year commitment to Brazil,» Alexandre added.

Previously, American  Airlines had announced more flights to Brazil during the vacation season (December 2021 to January 2022), including new frequencies from Galeao to Miami and New York-JFK, as well as from Guarulhos to Miami, to Dallas, and to New York-JFK. During this period, the airline will have 7 daily operations in Brazil.
