Rutaca increases its operations to the Dominican Republic

Rutaca Airlines is readjusting its international network as of November 2021 with the introduction of a new route and the expansion of one existing service. All these routes include onward connections to other international destinations.

New International connection from Maracaibo

As of November 14, 2021, the airline will start a new route between Maracaibo and Punta Cana, with the following itinerary:

  • Maracaibo – Punta Cana Flight 5R1400 MAR 09:45 – PUJ 11:05 two weekly flights on Thursdays and Sundays operated in Boeing 737-300.
  • Punta Cana – Maracaibo Flight 5R1401 PUJ 13:05 – MAR 15:10 two weekly flights on Thursdays and Sundays operated in Boeing 737-300.

Rutaca and Estelar will be the only airline operators with flights between La Chinita Airport (MAR) and the Dominican Republic.

More flights from Caracas

As of November 7, 2021, Rutaca increases its operations on the route between Caracas and Punta Cana by adding a new flight:

  • Caracas – Punta Cana Flight 5R1700 CCS 10:00 – PUJ 11:20 three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays operated in 130-seat Boeing 737-300s.
  • Punta Cana – Caracas Flight 5R1701 PUJ 13:50 – CCS 15:10 three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays operated in 130-seat Boeing 737-300.

The airline will be competing with domestic carriers such as Laser Airlines, Avior Airlines, and Conviasa between flights from the Venezuelan capital to the Dominican Republic.

Routes to La Romana (LRM) will be operated until October 28, according to the airline’s website.
