Embraer Renews Pool Program Agreement with TAP Express

-

Embraer announced today at MRO Europe, a major aircraft maintenance event, that it has signed a contract renewal for the Pool Program with TAP express, a subsidiary of TAP Air Portugal. The contract includes extensive support for components of the airline’s fleet of E-Jets. Currently, the Pool Program serves more than 50 airlines worldwide.

«Over the years, Embraer’s support has proven to be of enormous value to our operation. Having Embraer by our side gives us the peace of mind we need to be able to focus only on daily operations to offer passengers our best service», said Valter Fernandes, General Director of TAP express.

Since 1998, TAP Express, formerly known as PGA-Portugália Airlines, has relied on Embraer for component support through the Pool Program in the operation of its ERJ 145 aircraft. In 2016, the airline introduced E-Jets to its fleet, which currently has 13 jets, and the partnership was extended to this new aircraft type.

«We are very pleased to extend our long-standing partnership with TAP for many years into the future. The renewal with TAP, a company recognized worldwide for its operational excellence, is an endorsement of the support work of Embraer and our service teams», said Danielle Vardaro, Head of Global Customer Support and After-Sales, Embraer Services & Support.

The Embraer Pool Program allows airlines to minimize initial investments in inventory and high-value repairable items by taking advantage of Embraer’s technical expertise and vast network of component repair service providers. This results in significant savings in repair and inventory holding costs, also reduction in required storage space, and lastly the virtual elimination of the need for resources required for repair management while ensuring performance levels.
