Colombia: Wingo to increase its flights to Cuba

-

After the Cuban government announced the lifting of its restrictions as of November 15, Wingo will normalize its operations in Cuba.

The company will increase its flights from twice monthly to twice weekly from Bogota (BOG) to Havana (HAV) and vice versa, starting November 18. Services will be operated on Boeing 737-800 aircraft with a capacity for 186 passengers, giving it an offer of 744 seats per week.

Starting in December, the airline will add one additional flight per week, offering 1,116 seats every 7 days.

Cuba had authorized international flights in September 2020, but the increase in the number of COVID cases in neighboring countries obliged the country to restrict operation in February 2021. Latin American, U.S., and Caribbean destinations were the most affected by the limitations imposed. Now, the Cuban government has reintroduced services to those regions, allowing airlines to reschedule according to the existing demand.

Those who have not been vaccinated must present a negative test result 72 hours before their arrival at the latest. In addition, random tests will be carried out among those entering the country. At the same time, all travelers must provide proof of international health insurance.
