During the morning of October 26, a press conference was held by the Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, and the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Matías Lammens. Both announced a change in the entry restrictions to Argentina and the beginning of vaccination tourism for minors.
The epidemiological situation in Argentina has been improving in recent weeks, with an average rate of 500 cases daily. Minister Vizzotti announced the withdrawal of the 5th or 7th day PCR test for all citizens entering the country. This is in addition to the withdrawal of the antigen test and the elimination of the quota for the number of passengers entering the country by air which was announced on October 19.
In addition, the quarantine requirement is eliminated for all unvaccinated minors entering Argentina.
Matias Lammens announced that he will promote vaccine tourism in the country, giving priority to unvaccinated minors under 18 years of age who enter the country with their immunized family members.
It should be recalled that as from November 1, all foreigners will be able to enter the country through the airports that are considered «safe corridors»: Buenos Aires/Ezeiza (EZE), Buenos Aires/Aeroparque (AEP), Buenos Aires/San Fernando (FDO), Córdoba (COR), Mendoza (MDZ), Puerto Iguazú (IGR), Tucumán (TUC) and Ushuaia (USH).
They will also be able to enter at the border crossings considered «safe corridors» of: Iguazú – Foz de Iguazú (Argentina-Brazil); Posadas – Encarnación (Argentina-Paraguay), Bernardo de Irigoyen – Dionísio Cerqueira (Argentina-Brazil), Cristo Redentor/Paso Libertadores (Argentina-Chile). The Ports of Ushuaia, Buquebus Port Terminal and Colonia Express are included.
Foreigners entering the country are required to have a complete immunization plan with any vaccine given in their respective country, medical insurance covering COVID, the PCR test done within 72 hours prior to the flight and the Health Affidavit made via the website of the National Direction of Migration.
