Sky Up announces flights to Madrid

Kiev-based low-cost airline Sky Up announces its new destination to Madrid from its major base of operation in Boryspil the main airport of the capital of Ukraine for October 18, 2021 with twice weekly flights on Mondays and Fridays.

The schedule is as follows:

  • Kiev Boryspil – Madrid PQ761 KBP 10:30 – MAD 14:00 two weekly flights Monday and Friday with Boeing 737-800 Next Generation.
  • Madrid – Kiev Boryspil PQ762 MAD 15:00 – KBP 20:15 two weekly flights Monday and Friday with Boeing 737-800 Next Generation.

The airline has launched promotional fares from $20 from Kiev – Madrid and $31 from Madrid to Kiev.

In 2019 Spain was one of the most popular international destinations from Kiev-Boryspil, data obtained by Aviacionline through Aena Statistics, 496.521 passengers flew from the main airport of the Ukrainian capital to Spanish cities in 2019. The health situation due to the pandemic have drastically affected air operations between the two nations. Until August 2021 only 10.59% of passenger traffic has recovered from pre-pandemic levels between Boryspil airport to Spain.

Sky Up with its new route between Kiev Boryspil – Madrid will compete with a strong rival ultra low cost airline Ryanair which currently operates between the two airports with three weekly flights.

Sky Up currently offers destinations in Spain from Barcelona, Alicante and Tenerife (TSF), which they resumed last August.

Entry regulations for Spain

As of September 13, 2021, Ukrainian citizens can travel to Spain without the need to provide full vaccination schedules or negative test results for COVID-19. Travelers must participate in the following electronic application form (click here).
