Chile announces border opening as of October 1

-

The Chilean Ministry of Health announced that as of October 1, Chileans, resident and non-resident foreigners from any country in the world will be able to leave and enter the country.

Entry to Chile by air will be possible through the airports serving Iquique, Antofagasta and Santiago de Chile.

Chileans and resident foreigners must submit a sworn statement through www.c19.cl and a negative PCR test up to 72 hours prior to boarding.

Non-resident foreigners must present, in addition to the affidavit and the negative PCR test, travel medical insurance with a minimum coverage of US$30,000 and the mobility pass that can be obtained at mevacuno.gob.cl, after validating the vaccination received.

Obtaining the mobility pass allows the mandatory isolation of five days, while those who do not obtain such pass must remain isolated for 7 days.

14-day supervision is added to these requirements. The Chilean state will control compliance with the isolation and monitor the mandatory daily health and location report. It may also order a test upon arrival or at any time during that period.
