-

Colombia’s largest airline, Avianca announces two new routes between Medellin (MDE) – San Andres (ADZ) and the resumption of its operation between Medellin (MDE) – Bucaramanga (BGA) starting next December, this is part of the announcement of additional routes confirmed by the airline months before, as part of its reactivation in the market.

«Medellín is a strategic city for Avianca’s operations, and for the country’s tourism and economic recovery. For this reason, we continue to focus on expanding domestic and international connectivity for our travelers in Antioquia. This year we inaugurated the Medellin-Cancun and Medellin-Punta Cana routes; and by December we will add Medellin-San Andres and Medellin-Bucaramanga with our proposal: low prices, customized products, and a robust network, with a punctual, biosecure and reliable service», says Ana Maria Copete, Avianca’s Director of Sales Colombia.

Avianca will compete against rivals such as VIVA, which established Medellín (MDE) as its hub, and LATAM Airlines, both of which operate the destinations announced by Colombia’s largest airline, the rapid recovery of the air market has caused a fierce competition among the region’s airline operators.
