Low-cost carrier Avelo Airlines will introduce flights between Tweed-New Haven Airport and Palm Beach International Airport, its fifth Florida destination the airline will serve from Connecticut.

The schedule for its new New Haven route is as follows:
- New Haven – Palm Beach HVN 07:00 – PBI 10:10
- Palm Beach – New Haven PBI 10:50 – HVN 13:40
The flights will be operated by Boeing 737-700 Next Generation 147-seat, single-class aircraft.
Between December 16, 2021 and January 4, 2022, it will operate daily flights, starting January 5, 2022, the operation will change to five weekly frequencies on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Promotional ticket fares start at USD 59.

More flights to Florida
Avelo is also increasing frequency to several previously announced Florida routes taking advantage of strong demand to sun and beach destinations, from December 16, 2021 to January 4, 2022 it will increase service to the following routes:
- New Haven – Fort Myers increases from 3 to 7 weekly flights (service begins November 8, 2021).
- New Haven – Tampa increases from 4 to 7 weekly flights (service begins November 11).
The airline, in addition to operating Fort Myers, Palm Beach and Tampa, will serve Fort Lauderdale and Orlando beginning November 3.
Avelo has also committed to invest $1.2 million to help upgrade and modernize facilities and operations as part of an overall $100 million project at Tweed-New Haven that will include a new terminal and extended runway. The airport and the airline expect to hire more than 100 employees.
Avelo’s arrival will mark the largest expansion of Tweed-New Haven in 30 years, connecting the airport to the state of Florida for the first time. With the departure of American Eagle from its Philadelphia route, the low-cost carrier will be the only airline operator in New Haven.
