JetBlue’s historic inaugural flight to London

After several months of waiting, JetBlue reached a milestone in its history on Thursday, August 12: the arrival of its first scheduled flight in Europe. The company will operate to London-Heathrow from its international hub in New York (JFK) with Airbus A321LRs, configured with 138 seats.

JetBlue will have a daily frequency between the two cities, entering a market largely dominated by other types of aircraft (Airbus A350, Boeing 767-400, Boeing 777 and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner). This accompanies a much lower cost in the choice of tickets between JetBlue and the different airlines, as a consequence of the aircraft chosen and a reduced operating cost.

With its seven weekly flights, JetBlue will offer 966 seats per week between New York and London-Heathrow and vice versa. British Airways and Virgin Atlantic, two of its competitors with a completely different service and operational proposition, offer between 500 and 600 daily seats per leg.
