Turkish Airlines returned to Cuba and increased its flights in Brazil, Colombia, Panama and Venezuela

-

Turkish Airlines continues to readjust its schedules and increased its offer in Bogotá (Colombia), Panama, São Paulo (Brazil) and Caracas (Venezuela) for July. It also resumed its operations to Havana in Cuba on June 25.

The company was able to balance its profits by reducing operating costs, management costs, capital expenditures and adapting to the «new normality». In addition, they have focused on the cargo market by reconfiguring 50 of their passenger aircraft to increase the capacity of their cargo fleet.

In South America, the company took advantage of the relaxation of restrictions in Colombia and Panama, the possibility for vaccinated travelers to travel, and approvals by Cuba and Venezuela to operate in Havana and Caracas.

Flights to Bogotá in Colombia and Panama City go from three to five weekly operations, offering 3,000 seats per week with Turkey. On the other hand, on June 25 the company resumed its flights to Havana (HAV) in Cuba; the same flight continues to Caracas in Venezuela, although without traffic rights to transport passengers between the two countries.

With the triangular with Cuba, the flight from Venezuela increases from three to four weekly flights.

In Brazil, despite the fact that more than 100 countries restrict the entry of citizens of that country and residents, the Turkish company increased on June 30 from three to four weekly flights.

The company explained that Brazilian passengers traveling to other international destinations through Turkey can normally connect at Istanbul Airport, as long as they do not leave the international transit area. Passengers who travel to Turkey as their final destination, but who have been in Brazil for at least 14 days before and regardless of their nationality, will be subject to a mandatory 14-day quarantine in accommodations and places determined by the government.

According to information obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, the airline will offer a total of 52,948 seats for the month of July in Latin America and the Caribbean, which includes Mexico City and Cancun, where they maintain their three weekly flights. Argentina was not included in the list, since country restrictions make it impossible to know future schedules with certainty (although in principle there is scheduled, from July 13 until October, a weekly flight to Buenos Aires, subject to approval of the Argentine government).
