-

Porter Airlines has just announced an order for 30 Embraer E195-E2s. The agreement also includes the option of acquiring up to 50 additional aircraft, and deliveries will begin in the second half of 2022. With this agreement, Porter becomes the launch customer for the E2 family in North America.

The regional airline, based in Toronto’s Billy Bishop Airport, is carrying out a plan to expand its routes. It currently operates 29 de Havilland Dash 8s, turboprop aircraft with capacity for 78 passengers.

When announcing the order, Michael Deluce, President and CEO of Porter, said «This is a historic moment for Porter as we build the foundation for our plans to operate throughout North America.»

The Embraers that join will fly to destinations in Canada, the United States, the Caribbean and Mexico. The operations will be carried out from the airports of Toronto (Pearson), Montreal, Ottawa and Halifax.
