American Airlines inaugurated flights between New York and Santiago de Chile

Today (3) landed at Santiago de Chile International Airport American Airlines’s inaugural flight from New York . The airline will have three operations per week with Boeing 777-200(ER)s, configured with 273 seats.

New York is American’s third destination from Chile capital city. The company operates from Dallas and Miami, each on a daily basis, with Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners.

American Airlines will offer 819 weekly seats between New York (JFK) and Santiago de Chile and vice versa. This route is also carried out by LATAM, three times a week.

With Santiago’s start, New York reaches a total of 8 Latin American destinations operated by American Airlines. The airline flies to Bogota (Colombia), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Cali (Colombia), Cancun (Mexico), Georgetown (Guyana), Medellin (Colombia) and Sao Paulo (Brazil).

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, American had flights to Liberia (Costa Rica), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and San Jose (Costa Rica) from New York, but, for the moment, these operations are suspended.

    • Buenas Marcelo, hay docenas de ciudades con el nombre «Santiago» en Latinoamérica o que inician así. Por ende, para ejemplificar ese nombre «a secas» debemos aclarar bien de que país proviene, para no generar mayores confusiones.
