Aerolíneas Argentinas confirms 10 flights to China in search of 8 million Sinopharm vaccines

Aerolíneas Argentinas confirmed the departure of 10 flights to the city of Beijing, People’s Republic of China to bring 8 million doses of Sinopharm.

The first departs today under flight number AR1070 at 12.50 pm and will make an intermediate stopover in Madrid, where it will arrive at 5.35 am on July 3 (local time in Spain). There it will remain until 7.05 am, when the second part of the flight will begin, landing in the capital of the People’s Republic of China at 12.15 am on July 4 (local time in Beijing).

It will start the return to Madrid at 3.15 with arrival time at 09.55 of the same day. After a stopover of just over an hour, it will take off again to land at the Ezeiza international airport at 7.10 pm on Sunday.

The other 9 flights will repeat the same flight plan, from the middle of next week and on consecutive days.

«These 10 flights are great news because in a period of a few days Argentina will have a huge amount of new doses, which will allow this unprecedented vaccination campaign to be accelerated even more,» said Pablo Ceriani, head of Aerolíneas Argentinas.

The 8 million vaccines are part of the recently concluded agreement with the China National Pharmaceutical Group through which 24 million vaccines will reach the country between July and September.

In addition, during the early morning the AR1063 from Moscow landed with 1,141,000 doses of Sputnik V, being the largest arrival of the vaccine in a single flight.

Aerolíneas Argentinas has completed a total of 21 flights to Moscow in which 11,263,375 doses of the vaccine produced by the Gamaleya Institute were transported. In addition, from Beijing, a total of 5,195,200 arrived in the country in 7 flights. Thus, in 28 operations a total of 16,458,575 doses were brought.
