Lufthansa adds a new route to United States

From June 2nd, 2022, Lufthansa plans to add a new destination to United States from Frankfurt, its most important hub at Germany. The airline programs to operate twice a week to Anchorage, Alaska, with its Airbus A340-300.

Lufthansa will offer 558 weekly seats between Frankfurt and Anchorage and vice versa, with this schedule of operations. At the moment, the airline will be the only one to operate non-stop between both airports.

According to the first reports, Lufthansa will have flights to Anchorage during the summer season of 2022. Between September and October they would operate its last flight from Frankfurt.

Lufthansa currently has operations to Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York (EWR and JFK), Orlando, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington, from Frankfurt. From Munich it operates non-stop to Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles and Newark.

As the coronavirus situation improves, Lufthansa plans to resume routes to United States. Some destinations scheduled for the next few months are, in addition to Anchorage, Austin, Charlotte, Fort Myers, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Salt Lake City, San Diego and Tampa.
