Yesterday the Cap. Nicolas Rojas International Airport from the city of Potosí was reopened after a large investment, estimated at 25,000,000 dollars, by the national and local government.

«We have agreed to reactivate flights from the Potosí airport to the rest of the country and that is important. Our population has the right to fly: we have ensured 3 weekly flights reactivating tourism in this mining department; the airport will be the protagonist of Boliviana de Aviación´s first flight from Cochabamba,» said Minister of Public Works Edgar Montaño.
According to BoA’s schedule, flights will depart on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8:30 AM to Jorge Wilstermann Camacho International Airport in Cochabamba. These will be served by the Bombardier CRJ200s twin jets with capacity for 50 passengers.
As for the reforms in the air terminal, they consisted in the extension of the runway, taking it from 2,800 to 4,000 meters. This modification is of great importance in relation to the operation of the airport, taking into account its elevation of 3,935 m / 12,913 feet (masl), which has a severe impact on aircraft performance.
