Volotea renovates its fleet and bases two Airbus A320s in Naples

At the beginning of this year, Volotea bade farewell to its last Boeing 717s and began operating a fleet made up entirely of Airbus A319 and A320, which two of its latest acquisitions will be destined for Naples airport.

With the arrival of these two Airbus A320s, the airline reconfirms its interest in Campania, supporting the area and encouraging its economic activation.

For this summer, compared to the previous one, Volotea will increase its seat offer in Naples by 77%, and by 13% compared to the summer season of 2019.

From the airline they affirmed, that in the same way, additional aircraft could be added if the demand increases beyond the forecasts.

The airline operates a total of 23 routes in Naples to 11 national destinations (Alghero, Cagliari, Catania, Genova, Lampedusa, Olbia, Palermo, Turin, Trieste, Venezia and Verona) while the rest are destinations in Europe (Bordeaux, Marsiglia,
Nantes and Toulouse in France, Kefalonia, Crete, Mykonos, Preveza Lefkada, Rodi, Santorini, Skiathos and Zante).

Carlos Muñoz, President of Volotea, stated: “We are very excited to welcome these new aircraft that seal a further reinforcement between Volotea, Naples and all of Campania. In 2020 we decided to inaugurate one of our bases at Campania airport and the arrival of these more spacious, efficient and environmentally friendly aircraft reaffirms our desire to continue investing locally, supporting the area and supporting its economic recovery in such a difficult and particular period.»

Volotea’s fleet currently consists of 15 Airbus A320s and 20 Airbus A319s.
