KLM will start flying to Cancun, Mexico

-

The Dutch airline will offer a direct flight between Amsterdam (AMS) and Cancun (CUN) for the 2021/22 winter season.

The company announced in a statement that the flights will operate between October 31, 2021 and March 26, 2022, with three weekly flights. With this route, it will strengthen its presence in Mexico, since it currently offers a daily flight between Amsterdam and Mexico City (MEX).

KLM seeks to expand its presence on the global network, mainly choosing those routes that show a better recovery trend. Mexico has been a magnet for new routes, mainly due to the controversial measure of not imposing sanitary restrictions.

In addition to Cancun, the landing was also announced in Orlando (MCO) in the United States, Phuket (HKT) in Thailand, Mombasa (MBA) in Kenya, Bridgetown (BGI) in Barbados and the return to Port of Spain (POS) in Trinidad and Tobago. These services join the four new routes in Europe, including Palma de Mallorca.
