Guarulhos International Airport began to vaccinate all its aeronautical personnel

-

On May 28, the vaccination program for airport and air transport personnel began at Brazil’s main airport, making it the second country in South America to carry out a vaccination plan for aeronautical workers.

The action is part of the National Operation Program against COVID-19 of the Ministry of Health. Employees of airlines (defined by Decree No. 1,232 / 1962 and Law No. 13,475 / 2017), airport and auxiliary air transport service companies´ employees (defined by Resolution 116/2009 of the ANAC of Brazil) are the beneficiaries of the program.

On the first day, around 5,000 employees of Guarulhos Airport received their dose of the Astrazeneca / Oxford vaccine.

According to our partner media in Brazil, AEROIN, the Campinas / Viracopos International Airport, Azul’s main base, is expected to be the next to implement the vaccination process for its employees.

The Ministry of Health informed the National Union of Aeronauts (SNA for its initials in Portuguese) that any aeronautical employee who accredits the status of worker in a national airline will have priority to receive the corresponding vaccine.

At the moment, the International Airport of Punta Cana and Santiago de Chile were the first in giving at least one dose to all of its personnel.
