Aviation Capital Group delivers the seventh Airbus A320neo to Viva

-

On May 27, Viva received a new Airbus A320neo, being the seventh of the model delivered by the lessor Aviation Capital Group to the Colombian ultra low-cost.

The new aircraft was nicknamed as “Volaré, oh oh ????”, following the pattern of naming its aircraft with effusive names. This aircraft, with CFM International LEAP-1A engines, was delivered as part of a long-term transaction between Aviation Capital Group LLC (ACG) and the airline, that encompasses 28 other units of the same model.

The first NEO was received in October 2020, and since then Viva has received one aircraft per month: HK-5352 “Boomerang”, HK-5353 “I ♡ Viva”, HK-5360 “Hasta la Viva, baby ????”, HK -5361 “Rayo McViva ⚡”, HK-5365 “Yellow Submarine”, HK-5367 “Volaré, oh oh ????”, HK-5368 “Waffles”.

The company recently completed nine years of history and seeks to strengthen the low-cost segment in the region with this acquisition.

Viva relaunches its image determined to fight in the region’s low-cost segment

The growth plan contemplates having the lowest unit cost per passenger in the world and continuing to strengthen its recently established hub at Rionegro José María Córdova International Airport (MDE) with the launch of 15 new international routes in the next 3 years, and thus transform that city into the new axis of air connections on the continent.

This year Viva inaugurated four new international routes that connects Medellín with Cancun, Mexico City and Orlando, and Bogotá with Mexico City. In this way, its network in 2021 will cover 26 routes between 12 destinations in Colombia and seven routes to five destinations in Peru, Mexico and the United States. The subsidiary in Peru operates seven domestic routes.
