American Airlines postpones New York – Santiago de Chile

-

Last February we had informed  that American Airlines was planning to start its flights between Santiago de Chile and New York. These operations planned to begin on May 7 with the Boeing 777-200 (ER), configured with 273 seats.

As a result of the pandemic, American Airlines postponed the start of operations between Santiago and New York. These flights would begin on July 3, with the same frequencies and aircraft used.

“Except for a brief period due to the pandemic, we have practically had a service
uninterrupted in Santiago throughout this period, which shows our
commitment to the market and Chile,” said Marcela Hellwig, Sales Coordinator of
American in Chile, during a recent virtual presentation between the company and the Chilean North American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham Chile).

«By the end of the year we expect this service to have daily operation, taking into account
the profitability of the flight counts. New York has potential as a cultural and economic one-pole city so we hope it has a lot of development coming in the second semester,” Hellwig emphasized.
