Venezuela authorized domestic flights

The president of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro announced on Sunday, April 11 the start of the «week of flexibility» after three weeks of «radical quarantine» in which multiple activities were interrupted to contain the second wave of COVID-19 infections, including domestic flights.

The National Institute of Civil Aeronautics announced that regular commercial operations have been authorized on the routes Porlamar – Maiquetía, Porlamar – Valencia, Porlamar – Maracaibo, Los Roques – Maiquetía and Los Roques – Caracas Airport, in accordance with the provisions of NOTAM C0316 / 2021 and C0317 / 2021.

«We continue to help with the combat implemented by the National Executive against COVID-19, taking the necessary measures to counteract this pandemic, complying with the preventive regulations issued by the Bolivarian Government, with the support of the Ministry of Popular Power for Transportation», the INAC stated.

After the slow restart of regular flights during the last quarter of 2020, venezuelan airlines received permission to start connecting just a handful of Venezuelan cities such as Caracas, Porlamar, Canaima and Maracaibo by Conviasa, Laser, Venezolana and Aeropostal.
