Iberia schedules more frequencies between Madrid and Montevideo

-

The company has two weekly flights between the capitals of Spain and Uruguay. The operations are carried out in the Airbus A330-200, configured with 288 seats in two classes. In addition, a third connection is operated by Air Europa on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.

Iberia plans to increase frequencies to Montevideo as of May 18, going from two to five weekly flights. Operations will continue to be carried out on Airbus A330-200s.

This entire schedule is subject to changes that may occur in the coming weeks, since it will depend mainly on the travel restrictions imposed by the governments, the COVID-19 situation and the demand.

Iberia had suspended operations to Montevideo due to the Coronavirus in March of last year. On May 31, 2020, the company resumed flights to the Uruguayan capital on a weekly basis. In the months following the restart, the schedule varied as it depended mainly on limitations.

In October and November the Spanish company operated three special flights to Montevideo with the Airbus A350-900. At the moment, no new flights are scheduled with these aircraft to Uruguay.
